Murata Production Co., Ltd. has initiated a collaboration with MobileKnowledge in Barcelona, Spain to expand the software development toolkit for the UWB (Ultra Wide Band) market.
In recent years, UWB has attracted much attention as a technology that can perform high-precision position detection indoors, and Murata Institute has provided multiple UWB modules.
However, to develop complex position detection systems using UWB modules, advanced software development techniques are indispensable. To this end, MK Company has created an IoT device software development toolkit for the UWB market, providing a design and evaluation solution for the correct detection position of IoT devices.

Each tool package includes instant running demonstration applications, development boards including Arduino compatible boards, and software samples, allowing for the creation of UWB position detection system prototypes with minimal manpower and time. Among them, Arduino is an open-source electronic platform widely used worldwide.
The software development kit targeted at such MK companies by Murata Productions provides a UWB communication module "Type2BP" equipped with NXP semiconductors N.V's chip NXP TrimensionTM SR150 that supports UWB, as well as a UWB communication module "Type2BP" equipped with TrimensionTM SR040 and Bluetooth ® The "Type2DK" of the LE+MCU chipset QN9090 provides support for easier embedding into ideal UWB systems.
