OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) display screens are widely used in various fields such as consumer electronics, television, automotive electronics, industrial control, etc. due to their advantages of self illumination, bright colors, high contrast, and fast response speed. According to different classification criteria, OLED displays can be classified into the following categories:

1、 Classified by driving method

Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode (AMOLED)

Features: Each pixel has an independent driving circuit, which can achieve high resolution, high refresh rate, and low power consumption. AMOLED display screens have fast response speed, bright colors, high contrast, and can achieve flexible display.

Application: Widely used in consumer electronics fields such as smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, as well as high-end TV and professional display markets.

Passive Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode (PMOLED)

Features: Pixel points are driven by row column scanning, with a simple structure but limited resolution and refresh rate. PMOLED displays have lower costs, but their display effects and performance are relatively weak.

Application: Suitable for scenes with low display requirements, such as simple information display and indicator lights.

2、 Classified by application scenario

Consumer Electronics OLED Display Screen

Features: Small size, high resolution, bright colors, fast response speed.

Applications: Smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, VR/AR devices, etc.

TV and Display OLED Display Screen

Features: Large size, high resolution, accurate color, high contrast, able to achieve more realistic black representation and a wider viewing angle.

Applications: high-end TVs, professional monitors, gaming monitors, etc.

Automotive electronic OLED display screen

Features: It has high brightness, high contrast, wide temperature range, anti vibration and other characteristics, and can adapt to the complex environment inside the car.

Applications: In car display screens, instrument panels, center consoles, etc.

Industrial control OLED display screen

Features: It has high reliability, high stability, long life and other characteristics, and can adapt to harsh environments in industrial sites.

Applications: Industrial touch screens, HMI (Human Machine Interface), industrial automation control systems, etc.

3、 Classify by display characteristics

Rigid OLED display screen

Features: Using a glass substrate, it has high hardness and stability, good display effect, but cannot be bent.

Applications: Smartphones, tablets, televisions, etc.

Flexible OLED display screen

Features: Using plastic substrate, it can be bent, folded, and even curled, with higher flexibility and portability.

Applications: Wearable devices, curved screen phones, foldable screen phones, etc.

Transparent OLED display screen

Features: It has a transparent display effect and can present a transparent state when the content is not displayed, achieving integration with the surrounding environment.

Applications: Augmented Reality (AR) devices, smart windows, commercial displays, etc.

4、 Classified by technological development

Traditional OLED display screen

Features: Made using vapor deposition technology, the organic luminescent material is precisely deposited on the substrate through vacuum vapor deposition equipment to form pixel points. Traditional OLED displays have good display effects, but the cost is relatively high.

Application: Widely used in high-end consumer electronics and television markets.

Printed OLED display screen

Features: Made using inkjet printing technology, the organic luminescent material is accurately sprayed onto the substrate in the form of droplets, forming pixel points. Printing OLED displays is expected to reduce costs and improve production efficiency, but it is still in the development stage.

Application: It is expected to be applied in the large-size TV and monitor market in the future.
