Recently, Samsung Electro-Mechanics disclosed on an exchange platform that it has signed a long-term supply agreement with a total order size of approximately 290 billion KRW (about 1.435 billion RMB).

According to the agreement, Samsung Electro-Mechanics will continuously supply multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCC) and inductors for AI servers to a global major enterprise, with the supply period set from January 1, 2027, to December 31, 2027.

With this agreement, Samsung Electro-Mechanics disclosed a total of about 3.6 trillion KRW in long-term supply agreements in 2026, covering products such as silicon capacitors, AI server MLCCs, and inductors. The company has now reached long-term MLCC supply agreements with more than 10 global companies, and a total of four AI-related MLCC supply agreements were announced in 2026.

AI servers, as core carriers of computing infrastructure, demand high stability, heat resistance, and high-frequency characteristics from passive components. MLCCs and inductors are essential components in the power circuits and signal chains of servers, playing critical roles in voltage stabilization, filtering, and noise reduction. They are indispensable parts for ensuring the stable operation of high-performance AI hardware.

With the continuous expansion of global large model training and inference computing power demand, the AI server market remains highly prosperous. The long-term and stable supply of upstream passive components has also become an important part of the production expansion layout of leading manufacturers. This long-term agreement signifies that downstream top customers have locked in component capacity for the next year, while also reflecting the sustained strong demand for high-end MLCCs and power inductors in the AI computing power sector.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics, as one of the core manufacturers of MLCC globally, continues to increase its capacity for high-end automotive and server passive components. This 290 billion KRW annual long-term order is an important signal of the company's order landing in the AI server passive component field. It also reflects the tight supply chain of high-end passive components, with leading customers preferring to lock in capacity through long-term agreements to avoid supply fluctuations.
