Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has developed a 0603M size (0.6 × 0.3 × 0.3mm) copper electrode negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor, with models "NCU03XH103F6SRL" and "NCU03XH103F60RL". This new product expands the size lineup of the NCU series and meets the high-density and miniaturized requirements of circuit boards in the automotive market, as well as the high reliability requirements for electronic components. Mass production has begun and samples can be provided.

 

With the advancement of autonomous driving and IoT technology in the automotive market, the number of electronic components installed is constantly increasing, and the high-density of circuit boards is also constantly improving. In addition, with the high functionality of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) and TELEMATICS devices, the problem of heat generation caused by increased electronic component load has become increasingly serious. Therefore, the demand for overheating detection and temperature monitoring is constantly increasing.

The new product launched this time is based on Murata's long-term accumulated process technology, and has developed a 0603M size (0.6 × 0.3 × 0.3mm) that supports high reliability applications. Compared with the old model (1005M size), the volume has been reduced by about 80% and the mounting area has been reduced by about 70%.
