TEA2208T active bridge rectifier controller IC is the first product of NXP's new generation active bridge rectifier, which replaces traditional diode bridge controllers.
This active bridge IC is equipped with a high current rail to rail MOS output driver, which can reduce power consumption and gate charge loss to a minimum of 2mW.
Combining TEA2208T with low resistance high-voltage external MOSFETs can significantly improve the efficiency of power converters, as the typical forward conduction losses of rectifier diodes have been eliminated.
With the power MOSFET drain source voltage protection and minimum power supply voltage function of TEA2208T, efficiency can be improved by about 1.4% at a power supply voltage of 90 V (AC).
As a full wave rectifier, TEA2208T is capable of driving four MOSFETs in the active bridge, making it highly suitable for power supplies with boost type power factor controllers as the first stage. For second level applications, TEA2208T can be used as a flyback controller, resonant controller, or applied to other controller topologies.
In addition, this active bridge rectifier can be used for all high-efficiency power sources, such as adapters and PC power supplies.
