The NXP battery cell controller MC33774 is an 18 channel lithium-ion battery cell controller IC ASIL D. MC33774A is a lithium battery controller IC designed for automotive and industrial applications.
MC33774 is an 18 channel battery controller IC designed specifically for demanding applications. The IC has undergone lifespan testing and has a voltage measurement error of less than 2mV across the entire temperature and battery voltage range. A fully redundant and independent internal architecture can achieve ASIL D functional safety goals in battery voltage and temperature measurement. Due to the input voltage range being as low as -3V, bus monitoring is supported.
The configurable on-chip average high-frequency voltage measurement signal serves as a digital filter and allows for reduced external filtering. Highly advanced features can be used to control passive battery balancing, with up to 300mA per channel. The I2C interface allows control of external devices, such as EEPROM. Up to 62 devices can be connected through the isolated ETPL bus.
