Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has developed the "FlexiBK series (PE24110)" high-efficiency DC-DC converter IC for low rise applications below 1.2mm, which can output up to 12A with an input voltage of 3.3. This product is available in a 4.0 × 3.2mm QFN (Quad Flat No led package) package, suitable for thin applications below 1.2mm.

In recent years, in the communication infrastructure market, the consumption current of ASIC/DSP has continued to increase, while the core voltage has shown a downward trend. The duty cycle (1) of traditional DC-DC converters becomes narrower, resulting in a significant decrease in conversion efficiency. Therefore, it is required to achieve efficient conversion of DC-DC converters without relying on input/output potential differences.

Therefore, in applications that require high-density installation of thin POL (2) voltage regulators, optical transmission modules, core power supplies, ASIC/FGPA, and other applications that limit installation area and height, Murata has developed this product that significantly reduces dependence on inductor size and achieves high efficiency. In addition to integrating independently developed charge pump technology (3) with the innovative two-stage architecture of traditional DC-DC converter circuits, 89% high efficiency has been achieved through the formation of a 2-phase staggered circuit (4). The input voltage range is 3.0V to 3.45V, providing an output current of 12A for each device. The output voltage can be adjusted between 0.35 V and 0.7 V based on external feedback resistance.
