The EVSPIN32G4-DUAL demonstration board of China STMicroelectronics can control the operation of two motors with just one highly integrated motor driver STSPIN32G4, accelerating the product development cycle, simplifying PCB circuit board design, and reducing material costs.

The EVSPIN32G4-DUAL circuit board can shorten the research and development cycle of advanced industrial equipment and consumer products such as robots, multi axis factory automation systems, landscaping equipment, and electric tools, and shorten the product launch time. The built-in Arm of the STSPIN32G4 motor controller ® The Cortex ® - M4 microcontroller (MCU) can simultaneously control two motors and execute complex algorithms such as vector control (FOC) in real-time. In addition, MCU peripherals also support FOC algorithms with or without sensors, as well as advanced rotor position detection and torque control algorithms, including motor control and universal timers, as well as analog devices such as operational amplifiers and comparators.
The EVSPIN32G4-DUAL demonstration board utilizes the advanced three-phase gate driver inside STSPIN32G4 and an external STDRIVE101 gate driver to control two three-phase inverters, with a maximum output voltage of up to 74V and a maximum output current of 10A. Both gate drivers have their own bootstrap circuits and safety protection functions, including drain source voltage monitoring, cross conduction prevention, multiple thermal protection mechanisms, and undervoltage lock protection (UVLO).
EVSPIN32G4-DUAL can also utilize the built-in power management circuit of STSPIN32G4 to reduce design dimensions, simplify material lists, reduce costs, and accelerate product assembly on the production line. The power management circuit includes a programmable step-down converter and a low-voltage step-down linear regulator that supply power to the gate driver VCC, as well as a low static current regulator specifically designed to power the MCU during standby.

STSPIN32G4 belongs to the STM32 ecosystem. This ecosystem provides extensive and comprehensive development support for application developers, including project development initiation tools, middleware packages, and software examples. The X-CUBE-MCSDK (Motor Control Software Development Kit) includes a firmware library for motor control algorithms such as FOC and an STM32 motor control workbench. This is a very user-friendly graphical interface application development tool that allows users to directly select and automatically configure EVSPIN32G4-DUAL from the menu.
