Wide electrode patch resistors (long electrode resistors) have the following characteristics:

advantage:

Good stability: The long electrode structure is relatively less prone to electrode detachment and other issues caused by thermal stress during welding and other processes. It has high reliability and can better ensure the long-term stability of resistance performance.
Strong current carrying capacity: Longer electrodes can provide a larger current path, which can better meet the current carrying requirements in circuits that require larger currents to pass through.
Good heat dissipation performance: A longer electrode helps to dissipate heat better, especially in situations where high heat may be generated during operation, which is beneficial for controlling the working temperature of the resistor and improving its stability and lifespan.

Disadvantages:

Compared to ordinary surface mount resistors, they may be slightly larger in size and may be limited in some circuits with very compact space.
The production process requirements may be relatively high, and the cost may increase to a certain extent.
