Production of DDR5 Clock Driver Chip (CKD)

Previously, the clock driver function had been integrated into the Registered Clock Driver (RCD) chip, used on server RDIMM or LRDIMM modules, and not deployed on the PC side. Entering the DDR5 generation, when the data rate reaches 6400 MT/s or above, clock driver (CKD) chips become essential components for client memory modules.

The CKD chip of Lanqi Technology is mainly used in DDR5 client memory modules CUDIMM, CSODIMM, and CAMM to buffer the clock signal between the client central processor and DRAM, improving the integrity and reliability of high-speed clock signals. This chip complies with the JEDEC DDR5CKD01 standard and supports a data rate of up to 7200 MT/s. The chip supports dual side bus address access and I ² C, I3C interfaces. By configuring registers, the chip can change its output signal characteristics to match the network topology of different DIMMs, and can also reduce power consumption by disabling unused output signals.
